Sailing grounds

JONATHAN is at home on all the world’s oceans – from the most beautiful cruising grounds in the Caribbean and Central America to the far side of the Atlantic. With our ocean-going catamaran, we cross the Panama Canal and sail in the Pacific and the South Seas.

In our new destination is Baja California, we will observe whales, sea lions, dolphins, rays, etc. We will start from La Paz or Cabo San Lucas.

We also have fond memories of the southern Caribbean, specifically the Lesser Antilles. We sailed between the spice island of Grenada and St. Lucia, and experienced the most beautiful carnival in the Caribbean in Trinidad and Tobago. We sailed to the Tobago Cays between St. Vincent and Carriacu for diving and hiking in the rainforest and on the slopes of spectacular volcanoes. In the meantime, however, these areas have unfortunately become overcrowded with maritime tourism – this is something you should be aware of!

We visited Panama and got to know the indigenous people of the San Blas Islands. The route there often took us via Cartagena in Colombia or Panama City, a cosmopolitan city. Sailors sailed with us to Belize for a detour to the second largest barrier reef in the world. This is also where the “Great Blue Hole” is located – the largest blue hole on the planet – offering a unique diving experience. Before Honduras, we visited the Bay Islands, in Guatemala the Rio Dulce, in Cuba we sailed in the Canareos Archipelago and on to Havana. We are now leaving destinations such as the Bahamas, the USA, and Bermuda behind us and sailing through the Panama Canal into the Pacific and on to the South Seas.

Our new destination is Baja California, where from La Paz or Cabo San Lucas we will observe whales, sea lions, dolphins, rays, and more.
