Now I found myself beyond imagination

I keep having glimpses of cliches like “this was more than just a journey”, but I don’t how else I could redefine the gift that I received on a catamaran named ‘Nothing Can Be Wrong’, or “Jonathan Catamaran’, …

It all began on a summer day when all I had in me was winter. A winter that was ending, yet still without my awareness.

I arrived at Sabine and Carlos’s, to what felt part of my own family – a functional, lively and, beyond everything else, one full of joy. Sabine is warm, determined and graceful. Carlos is discreet, imperative and feels very trustworthy. They are both cheerful, free, authentic. Jonathan takes upon himself all of their features and turns them into a safe space inside of him, and then he carries you onto his fairytale seagull wings above the Islands of San Blas.

If there were ever moments in my life when I have dared imagine heaven, now I found myself beyond imagination.

And just like that, while floating on those protective wings above the Caribbean Sea, I had the strongest revelations, as though – with certainty – I understood life as being as equally important as a single grain of that white sand, so very white. And in a blink of an eye, that sand has perfectly replaced my deepest winter’s (white) snow.

Sabine and Carlos’s hands carried me – sometimes by mere presence, sometimes by holding my hands – through the waters, through the jungle, through the mountains and the Guna Yala villages – that I am utterly in love with-, and through all the outer experiences and less outer ones, one could simply call them inner experiences at best.

We sang, we danced, we cried, we ate, I have seen beings that I had never seen before in their own habitat – like fishes and underwater creatures, and Guna Yala, and the navigators, the plants and the animals of the jungle.

Needless to say, once I reached the catamaran, I had become a member of the Jonathan family. And this is one of my biggest life achievements.

I can still hear the music, I can still see its lyrics:
Oh, when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Yeah, I’d always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life

Standin’ on your mama’s porch
You told me that it’d last forever
Oh, and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life
Oh, yeah

San Blas out of a picture book

The catamaran trip in the San Blas area was simply unbelievably beautiful. It couldn’t be better in the South Seas. Carlos is a master of his craft and knows great little spots. Unfortunately, the effects of global warming are also taking their toll on this area. Therefore, make the trip quickly before the islands are swallowed by the sea. Sabine mostly took care of the catering on board. Carlos took on the role of the bartender. Unlike with tour operators, on Jonathan III you are part of the crew and are welcome to help out, for example with food preparation or washing up. Accordingly, the main focus is not on 5-star menus, but clearly on the island scenery.

Thank you once again for your hospitality!

Whoever enjoys the present will have a wonderful past in the future

We can’t put into words how much we enjoyed our time with you and, most importantly, the time spent together!

We got to know a true paradise… the San Blas Islands with all their different aspects!

…the Kuna people and their villages and way of life, the jungle, their beautiful islands with the stunning beaches, the dreamy water, the “super tasty” Caribbean cuisine, delicious Caribbean cocktails and fruits…

The time spent with you was something so unique and wonderful, which we will never forget! Thank you so much for that!

A pleasant sailing trip in distant waters

Now our adventure ‘Bahamas’, which, thanks to your care and foresight, wasn ’ t really an adventure but in reality a pleasant sailing trip in distant waters, is already more than a whole year behind us.

Your vivid reports, which wash ashore every month on the banks of the Spree with the message in a bottle, keep the memories of Jonathan alive.

For this, I wanted to take the opportunity in the new year 2024 to say Thank you!

Bon voyage!

I wish you and Sabine continued relaxation on your Jonathan and send warm regards.

The Flaschenpost sweetens everyday life

Since I sailed in the San Blas Islands years ago, I’ve been receiving your Flaschenpost.

I want to let you know that your posts always take me out of my everyday life a bit, and I enjoy reading them very much. I wish you a great year 2024 with inspiring – or as one might say, with sailing – moments.

San Blas Islands – a highlight

The trip in Panama with you was full of unique experiences. Great snorkeling, unforgettable experiences with the indigenous people, and wildlife experiences in the jungle. The sailing area is fantastically beautiful with islands, sandy beaches, small island villages, …

Thank you Sabine and Carlos, it was sailing and living on board like with friends. Your new boat, Sabine’s empathetic cooking, visiting shamans (Nele) really impressed me. Above all, your social commitment is exemplary.

Would love to be in the Bahamas with you again!

Forging one’s own path

I’ve been soaking up your messages in a bottle for years, this time you hit the nail on the head, that dreams should be put into action, just as you do!

Everyone around us knows everything better or gives good advice, which are just blows… they can’t get their own act together anyway. I’m also taking this path of implementation, but the many distractions from other people often block one too much.

It was a great impetus from you to more clearly forge one’s own path and to say no more often to what doesn’t suit you!

Unforgettable Bahamas Trip

Thanks to Sabine for the excellent cuisine! Thanks to Carlos for his superb local knowledge and the great snorkeling and diving!

Your boat is really S U P E R ! The deluxe equipment more than justified the price. Especially the kayaks and the SUP are great additions. Carlos, your cocktails deserve special praise! First class! Viennese iced coffee, ice-cold Daiquiris, Pain Killers are better with you than the original!!

Keep it up! We’re now considering San Blas, if you’re sailing to Cuba, count us in!
